Manage photos and tag location information

After taking a picture, you can manage the pictures you have taken. Learn here how to view the photos taken, or how to tag the picture with location information.

Manage pictures

After you have captured the picture, there are a few choices on the screen:

    • Send : Send the image via message or Bluetooth, or upload the picture online
    • Share online : select the service provider from Ovi, Flickr and Vox. Please see more details from Share your pictures and videos online.
    • Delete : Delete the image.
    • Options: Different alternatives, such as how to use the picture (as wallpaper, as call image), rename the image, or add it to folder.

To edit an image or a video clip go to Menu > Photos. Select the item you want to edit (e.g. from Captured) and select Options > Edit.

If you want to print the picture you captured, go to Menu > Photos. Select the item you want to print (e.g. from Captured) and select Options > Print. Note that your device must be connected to a compatible printer using a data cable, or send the image by Bluetooth to a printer supporting Bluetooth technology.

In addition to the ones mentioned above, there are many other ways to manage your photos in the menu Menu > Photos > Captured > Options.

View images and videos

Select Menu > Photos. From the list you can select:

    • Captured: View all the images and video clips you have captured.
    • Months: View images and video clips categorised by the month they were captured.
    • Albums: View the default albums and the ones you have created.
    • Tags: View the tags you have created for each item.
    • Downloads: View items and video clips downloaded from the web or received as a multimedia or e-mail message.
    • Share online: Post your images or video clips to the web.

The images and video clip files are ordered by date and time. The number of files is displayed.

    • To browse the files, swipe up or down.
    • To open a file, double-tap the file.
    • To view the toolbar, tap the image.
    • To zoom in the image, use the zoom slider. The zooming ratio is not stored permanently.

Tip! When you watch your videos or movies, the screen will automatically switch to landscape mode. Opening the keyboard when watching sets the device to a good angle and watching is comfortable when the device is placed on a table, for example.

Tag the picture with capture location

You can automatically add capture location information to the file details of the captured material. For example, in the Photos application, you can then view the location where an image was captured. Learn how to do that here.

Select Menu > Photos > Camera.

To add location information to all captured material, select Options > Settings > Show GPS info > On.

Location information indicators:

    • : Location information unavailable. GPS stays on in the background for several minutes. If a satellite connection is found and the indicator changes to within that time, all the images captured and video clips recorded during that time are tagged based on the received GPS positioning information.
    • : Location information is available. Location information is added to the file details. Files with location information are indicated by in the Photos application.

If you want to see where an image was captured later, go to that picture and select Options > Details > Location.
