Get to know your device
Automatic display rotation

In all applications, the screen rotates automatically from portrait to landscape when you turn the device to the left. To turn off the automatic display rotation or changing to full screen, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Display > Display rotation or Turn to full view.

Instructions in your device

To read instructions for the current view of the open application, select Options > Help. To browse the help topics and conduct searches, select Menu > Help > Help. To switch between the application and help, press and hold the home key.

Silence the device

To set calendar and clock alarms to snooze and to silence incoming calls, tap the device twice or turn it face down. To turn off silencing by tapping or turning, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation > Tones > Tap to silence or Turn to silence.

Personalise your device

You can personalise your device to fit your mood. To change the display settings, tones, themes, language, one-touch keys etc, select Menu > Tools > Settings > General > Personalisation.

Home screen

From the home screen, you can quickly access the features you use the most, and see at a glance any missed calls or new messages. You can define two separate home screens for different purposes, such as one screen to show your business e-mail and notifications, and another to show your personal e-mail.

To access the home screen, press the home key briefly. To change from one home screen to another, scroll to Switch mode and press the scroll key.

Slide function

To lock the keypad, close the slide. To unlock the keypad, open the slide. To answer a call, open the slide. To end the call, close the slide, unless you have a headset connected to the device, or you select Options before closing the keypad.

Check the clock on standby mode

When the device is key locked, pressing the select key brings the clock and some indicators on the display for as long as the key is pressed. If the button is pressed down for longer than five seconds, the lights turn off automatically.

Unlock keypad

To unlock the keypad without opening the slide, press the left and then the right selection key.
