1. Are there any plans to upgrade the PC Suite for Nokia 7110 phone for Windows 2000? Unfortunately, PC Suite for the Nokia 7110 phone was developed before Windows 2000; therefore it only supports Windows 95 and Windows 98 operating systems. You can install the Nokia modem setup, which installs the Windows 2000 update for infrared modem usage.
2. Can I use my Nokia mobile phone with a Windows CE device? Yes, a Windows CE driver for your Nokia mobile phone is available from the downloads section. The driver is also supplied on the Nokia 8890 CD-ROM.
There are significant differences in the power supply capability of different brands/models of Microsoft Windows CE 2 compatible PCs. Nokia takes no responsibility for possible damage that might be caused by the operating current drain caused while making an infrared connection. Consult your PC dealer for information on power supply issues relevant to infrared device usage.
It is beneficial to have "Palm Explorer" in the Casio Cassiopeia E-10 or a similar Win CE device without a keyboard. You can remove the installed infrared driver by removing the files:
\\windows\programs\Nokia Modem.exe
\\Program files\Nokia IrDA Update
| The driver is tested with: | COM3 |
| Casio Cassiopeia E-10 | OK |
| Casio Cassiopeia E-105 | OK |
| Hewlett Packard 620LX | OK |
| Hewlett Packard 680 | OK |
| Hewlett Packard 820 | OK |
| Sharp HC-4500 | OK |
| Sharp HC-4100 | OK |
| Hitachi HPW-200EC | OK |
3. It appears that while it is possible to make the phone vibrate (and not ring) for incoming voice calls, for SMS messages it does one of three things:
Is there a way to make the phone only vibrate for an incoming SMS message?
The phone will now appear to vibrate and not ring because the single beep will be at such a low volume.
